Since making my first patchwork quilt in 1983, I (Jan T Urquhart Baillie) have made many, many quilts. A well-known Australian tutor, patchwork author and magazine columnist for Down Under Quilts magazine,
I am known for my fast piecing method — Listen With Your Eyes, which I invented in 1990.
I have often been heard to say that I like 'big bits and fast'.
I love to teach people to do things, and while my teaching method is straight-forward, interspersed with lots of fun, encouraging my students to stretch their ideas beyond the basics is my goal.
